Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and a cryptographic hash of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, builds created, parts viewed, search queries, and timestamps of activity.
Cookies: We use a limited set of essential cookies to maintain your session and age verification status. See Section 4 for details.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Create and maintain your account.
- Display your builds, reviews, and other User Content to the community.
- Analyze usage patterns to improve the platform and user experience.

4. Cookies
Loadout Combat Lab uses only essential cookies required for the Service to function. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
- lcl_session — Authenticates your logged-in session. Duration: 30 days. Essential for account functionality.
- lcl_age_verified — Records that you have confirmed you are 18 years of age or older. Duration: 30 days. Essential for access control.
Because these cookies are strictly necessary for the operation of the Service, they are set without requiring separate consent. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may prevent you from using certain features of the Service.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data to any third party. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We may share data with trusted third-party providers who assist in operating the Service, such as hosting and database infrastructure providers. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.

Account data is retained for as long as your account remains active. Builds, reviews, and other community content may be retained indefinitely as part of the community knowledge base, but will be disassociated from your personal identity upon account deletion. Usage logs and analytics data are retained for up to 12 months and then purged or anonymized.
7. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information:
- Passwords are hashed using bcryptjs with appropriate salt rounds. We never store plain-text passwords.
- Session tokens are generated using cryptographically secure random values.
- All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS.
- Access to user data is restricted to authorized personnel and systems on a need-to-know basis.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
- Export: Request an export of your builds and account data in a portable format.
